Several times a year our house offers the opportunity to buy arts and antiques at one of our auctions. You will find a variety of objets d’art from different eras such as paintings, prints, watercolours, drawings, photographs, miniatures and sculptures.
In addition to Asian and African art, we occasionally offer rare historico-cultural and archaeological items from various areas.
A large selection of porcelain, ceramics, glass, watches, jewellery and silver is also part of our repertoire, as are Art Nouveau, military, student and design objects. A wide range of furniture, carpets and furnishing objects as well as icons, folk art, books, toys and curiosities is always available. Fine wine and spirits complete the assortment.
Before the auction
If you are interested in what we have on display, make sure you join our next auction.
A photo and a short descriptive text represent every lot of an auction. The catalogue is published on our website and on lot-tissimo, our partner’s website, about three weeks before the event. A printed version of the catalogue can be provided upon request.
You can personally inspect all items on sale in our premises one week prior to each auction.
If required, a detailed condition report is available for any object you might be interested in.
You can register with us as a bidder, should you wish to purchase an item. To do so, please fill out the bidding form “Form for absent Bidders” and send it back to us via e-mail, fax or mail. Please make sure to include your complete contact details (name, full postal address, telephone number, e-mail) so that we can get in touch with you.
We would certainly love to welcome you in Saarbrücken in person. Should you not be able to participate on site, you can submit a written bid for your desired items. Additionally, we offer the service to give you a call during auction or you can place a live bid on the internet. If you register with www.lot-tissimo.com, you can take part in the auction as a telephone bidder.
The auction house reserves all rights to admit you to the event.
By registering, you agree to our auction terms and conditions.
The Auction
The auctions are public and take place at our premises. In addition, you can experience them live via lot-tissimo. During the event, the auctioneer calls and auctions all lots. The limit prices stated in the catalogue are the call prices. The bid price is usually raised in 10-percent-increments. Written bids and registrations for live bidding should be on site or with lot-tissimo at least 24 hours before the auction. If those arrive any later, we cannot guarantee that they will be considered.
After the Auction
A few days after the auction the highest bidder receives an invoice by post or e-mail. The invoice details the hammer price, taxes and our commission fee as well as the costs for packaging and posting. In case you placed your bid as a live bidder, you will find the additional 3-percent-fee for live bidding included in your total. Shipping is approved as soon as the said total is remitted and credited to our accounts. We will pack your treasures with utmost care and send them to you as soon as possible. Please note that transport and the associated risk of damage or loss is at the expense and risk of the buyer.
Post-auction sale
All lots not sold in the auction can usually be purchased in the post-auction sale at the limit price plus the commission including VAT. The post-auction sale period is four weeks, starting on the day of the auction. Bids below limit price will be accepted during post-auction-sale and processed shortly after the end of the four-weeks-period.
